Business Opportunities between Korea and Washington State under the Korea – U.S. (KORUS) Free Trade Agreement

WCIT members are invited to attend a discussion on the Korean economy and opportunities for Washington state companies under the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) with a 23-person, high-level business delegation from Korea. The delegation is comprised of chairmen and presidents of 23 Korean firms, representing sectors that include agriculture, medical devices, real estate, financial services, electronics and textiles. This event is being organized by the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle.

Speaker:

Dr. Duck-soo Han is the Chairman of Korea International Trade Association (KITA). Prior to his appointment Dr. Han held a number of high-ranking positions in the Korean government. He served as Ambassador of Korea to the U.S.; Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea from 2007-2008, and held additional positions in the Korean government including Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Facilitating the KORUS FTA, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Trade Affairs. Dr. Han holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
