Join us for a bus tour jointly hosted by The Northwest Seaport Alliance and SSA Marine of their Seattle Harbor cargo operations and their role in international trade.
We will learn about the freight transportation system in Seattle, including marine terminal operations, intermodal rail, drayage trucking, and supporting industries that all work together to support Washington’s exporters and international imports. We will also have the opportunity to see Terminal 18 on Harbor Island, the largest container terminal in the Pacific Northwest, featuring four ship berths, ten ship-to-shore cranes, and on-dock rail for both BNSF and UP.
Additionally, we will learn about improvements underway at NWSA’s newest container terminal, T5, in West Seattle and throughout the Seattle Harbor to make cargo operations more efficient while generating environmental benefits such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving Puget Sound marine habitat.
