The town hall meeting is part of a nationwide, grassroots effort called “Tariffs Hurt the Heartland” which is backed by over 140 of the nation’s largest trade organizations, representing thousands of agriculture producers, manufacturers, workers and consumers across the country. Tariffs Hurt the Heartland is hosting town-hall meeting in communities across the country that are being impacted by trade uncertainty and tariffs.
Wednesday’s event will include a panel comprised of Seattle-area small business owners, producers, and manufacturers who will share stories about their aspirations to grow their business through expanded export opportunities. They will also share how their workers’ livelihoods are impacted by the current multi-faced trade war. Finally, the panel will discuss how consumers may be impacted by tariff measures.
Given your support for trade and your concern over recent trade policy decisions, we welcome the opportunity for you to hear directly from local agriculture producers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers about the impact of these measures on the Washington economy and communities.
We look forward to your participation. Please visit http://landing.tariffshurt.com/rsvp-seattle to RSVP for the event.
