The TPP – a trade agreement between the U.S. and 11 other Asia-Pacific countries – is the highest standard trade agreement in history. It offers the best opportunity to shape global trade rules to benefit U.S. workers and allow our exporters to compete on a level playing field with foreign competitors. With 40% of jobs tied to trade, Washington state stands to benefit significantly from this agreement.
The WCIT and Association of Washington Business study, “Wins for Washington: Economic Impacts of the Trans-Pacific Partnership on Washington State,” found the TPP could increase Washington’s exports by $8.7 billion and create up to 26,000 jobs. Those are some big wins for our state. Read the full study here.
